Paul Slager um has been my mentor and I would say still is. I started as a young attorney working with Paul at a
different firm. He was my mentor from day one. He is an incredible mentor. He takes time to teach which you know in
the law field we’re we’re busy and so finding that was just so hard and he was detailed oriented. He made time to sit through depositions and give me
real-time feedback. He would read my motions and give me feedback on my arguments. And he just really took the time and was dedicated to it um in ways
that I hadn’t ever had before. And I don’t think I’d be the attorney I was today without that. And he still does that to today. We work together. We’ve
worked together for the better part of a decade now. And every day I learn from Paul.
The biggest activity that I I spend most of my amount of time with is the National Crime Victims Bar Association.
So that’s a national organization. It’s attorneys from across the country and we really focus on making sure that we’re
elevating the practice of law in a way that helps victims of crime and mostly in the civil context. Um so outside of you know the criminal law we do civil
suits. So I um I’ve been involved in that for since 2022 I believe and I actually serve now as the president of
the Young Lawyers Council and I sit on the um advisory board as a non- voting member. And so, you know, I go every year to conferences across the country
where we learn just different techniques and way that we can actually serve our clients and make sure we’re staying on top of law changes and making sure we can advocate the best we can.
