I decided to become a lawyer because I

genuinely enjoy helping people ever

since I was a small child

I was always bothered by any kind of

Injustice I don’t like bullies

I don’t like people being treated

unfairly

and I always felt a desire to write

those wrongs and to help people and I

know there’s a lot of people that can’t

do so themselves either they don’t have

the resources or the training Court can

be specific confusing intimidating and

so I went to law school and I got those

skills and the training in order to be

an advocate for people and help people

when they really need it and sometimes

you know at their lowest points I can

step in and fix something for them and

that’s just so rewarding for me and

that’s why I became a lawyer

I was fortunate when I became a lawyer

that I worked for a small firm so I was

able to speak with the general partner

and express an interest with with doing

a lot of uh volunteer what we call pro

bono work and there are lots of great

agencies

legal volunteer agencies in the

Chicagoland area that I was able to

provide services to Indigent clients

um and just in a wide variety of cases

over you know it’s been many years 20

plus years and some of those cases are

the ones that I find the most rewarding

they’re the ones I talk about the most

when I talk about my job and their the

essence of why I’m a lawyer so I I very

much enjoy pro bono work but I also feel

obligated and and very much enjoy

volunteering outside of the law I

recently last summer I went to Spain and

volunteered with World Central Kitchen

at their Refugee intake centers and

things like that I always really enjoy

I’ve done that kind of thing my entire

life and I hope in retirement someday

down the road that that will be my

full-time job is you know helping others

so I love to travel and I’ve traveled

all over the world I started more

cultural European

um that kind of travel that I branched

out into more adventurous safaris I went

to Egypt a few times I’ve done a lot of

natural travel but seeing the natural

wonders and beauty of the world you know

I’ve been to the fjords of Norway South

America so pretty much that’s my love

and my passion outside of work is

traveling
