Like most defense attorneys I’m not totally egotistical, I hate tooting my own horn but I have won a lot of awards and that’s what this video is for. Early on in my career, I was selected by Minnesota Lawyer as the 2010 up and coming attorney. It was six years after that that me and my law partner, Chuck, were both selected as attorneys of the year for 2016. Not an award that’s given to DWI defense attorneys all that often that had to do with our work fighting the breath test program in Minnesota. Between then and now, I’ve been selected to the Super Lawyers list on multiple occasions. I’ve been sked and accepted the role as chairperson for the Amicus Committee for the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, which means that I author a lot of Amicus briefs before the Minnesota Supreme Court. Not necessarily representing my own clients but providing extra insight sometimes upon request by the court on cases that could very well impact my client’s cases either now or in the future.

In addition to those duties, I’m the acting secretary for the Minnesota Society of Criminal Justice and I am on the board of directors for the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I generally try to stay as involved as I can with the legal organizations that interest me most and that are dealing specifically with DWI related legislation laws, case law, things like that.

Roseville, MN DWI defense attorney Dan Koewler talks about some of the awards he’s won throughout his career as well as some substantial honors that prove his success.
