Uninsured and underinsured motors coverage is something you need to get on your own policy. Okay? And it will come
into play if you are in an accident with one an uninsured motorist. That is somebody who has no insurance or two if
you get into an accident with an underinsured motorist and then their policies has been exhausted. In Ohio,
the state minimum coverage for a liability, that is the other driver’s insurance, the state minimum is $25,000 uh per person and 50,000 per accident.
So, if you get into an accident and the value of your injury claim is greater than $25,000, you exhaust that policy,
the $25,000, and then you you you seek the rest of your damages from your own insurance company through your underinsured motors coverage.

He explains that uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is an important form of protection that drivers can purchase through their own auto insurance policies. This coverage may apply when someone is involved in an accident with an uninsured driver who has no insurance or an underinsured driver whose available liability coverage is insufficient to cover the injured person’s damages.
He notes that in Ohio, the state minimum liability insurance limits are $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident. If an injured person’s claim is worth more than the at-fault driver’s $25,000 per-person policy limit, the available liability coverage may be exhausted before all damages are compensated. In that situation, the injured person may be able to seek additional compensation through their own underinsured motorist coverage, subject to the terms of the policy and applicable law.
He emphasizes that having this additional coverage can help protect drivers financially when another motorist’s insurance is insufficient to cover the full value of their injuries.
