One of the first things prospects want to know is how much does estate planning cost. In our office, the average fee is between $4,000.00 and $6,000.00. It could be less and if you have an estate that has a lot of family issues or it has difficult assets or it has a high value and by high value, I mean more than $10 million then it could be more ‘cause there’s more things that we have to talk about. We may be setting up a charitable trust, we may be setting up a life insurance trust, there’s a whole range of things. But for the typical client that’s married and has either adult or minor kids, $4000.00-$6,0000.00 and that typically can include helping retitle the assets.

Phoenix, AZ estate planning attorney Mark A. Bregman gives the rundown on what clients can expect to pay for a full estate plan. He explains that one of the first questions prospective clients often ask is the cost of estate planning. In his office, the average fee ranges between $4,000 and $6,000. For most married clients with either adult or minor children, this range typically includes the preparation of core documents as well as assistance with retitling assets.
The cost may be lower in simpler cases, but for estates with complex family dynamics, unusual or difficult assets, or values exceeding $10 million, fees may be higher. In those situations, additional planning tools—such as charitable trusts or life insurance trusts—may be necessary to address the client’s unique needs.
