Insurance companies are awful. Okay, you there’s there’s no right way, wrong way to do anything. But there are some things that that that should be done.
Okay, one of them is the authority should be alerted. You should you should have the police come to the scene. They should make a report so things can be
documented and your insurance your own insurance company will in most cases want you to have a police report or they may not honor a claim against your own
insurance company. But anyways, you want to have it documented. The accident needs to be documented. Now, you may be in a situation where you’re in in in no
position to do that. You may be incapacitated to a degree that you’re not able to. Hopefully, somebody gets the police here. If it’s that serious an
accident, you would be removed from the scene by an ambulance. But in general,
if you are not incapacitated to the point that you you you can’t call it,
make sure the police get there. And the next thing you need to do is you need to have some sort of if you’ve got injuries, okay? And look, if you’re not
injured, that’s great. Okay? People get in accidents all the time. They don’t get injured. But if you have injuries,
you need to get some sort of documentation of that of that injury. If it’s an emergency, go to the emergency room, get checked out. um tell them
what’s hurting you. Tell them the what happened in the accident and so that they can document that you were injured,
you were making complaints of of whatever was hurting you following the accident and that we can have that. So those are the most important things right after the accident. It’s important
to get pictures and things like that. Um but some of that can be done later. If it is a disputed liability accident,
that is okay. If I get rearended, we know who’s at fault. Okay. Um the guy behind me. Okay, if it’s a case where
let’s say somebody’s run a red light and hit you, okay, you need witnesses. Okay,
it could be your word against the other driver’s word and the insurance company and that is the insurance company for the at fault, the other driver, they may
not accept that. So, if there are witnesses to the accident, make sure you get their information or that the police get their information and that it is put
into the uh into the crash report so that we can have that information and interview that person and and get a statement from them about what happened
in the accident and how it was not your fault.
