A trademark is used on goods to identify the source of the goods or in connection with services to identify the source of the services. A trade name is the name of a company and it has how a company identifies itself. A trademark and a trade name can be one and the same. Coca Cola is the name of a product and identifies that source of the product and it’s produced by the Coca Cola Company.
