The Railroad Retirement Board is a board that administers certain benefits for railroad workers. Railroad workers are not covered directly by Social Security they have their own separate system that actually pays better and has different benefits. So the board administers different programs such as sickness benefits, which are loans or benefits that injured employees can get while they’re off work. There’s also pension programs that employees can get and spouses can get.
