A cohabitation agreement is very similar
to a prenuptual agreement in terms of
the operations of them. A cohabitation
agreement is very helpful when you have
two individuals, whether they be in a
relationship, not in a relationship,
purchasing a home, or simply living
together in a home. It is very helpful
to set standards of how you want that to
look in terms of who’s going to be
handling what items financially, who
will be handling the items around the
home in terms of utilities and so forth.
And then it’s also a wonderful tool for
dispute resolution down the road. So
while the two individuals are on good
terms during the the acquiring of the
home, we can come to agreement on how
they want that to look should something
happen in the in the relationship fall
apart. So, you need one if you are not a
married individual and you are looking
to enter into a home situation or a
rental situation with somebody else that
you are not committed to. And we want to
plan for that falling out.
