I chose to become an estate planning attorney as well as a corporate succession planning attorney because I firsthand witness what happens when a
corporation fails to implement corporate documents that outline how a transition can happen. It’s unfortunate to see what happens in terms of relationships being
lost and family dynamics getting hurt because of that. So that really inspired me to pursue law school and then to
pursue the specific career path. And it also taught me that it’s important to not only put documents in place for purposes of putting them in place, but in order to keep the families together.
Indianapolis, IN estates & probate attorney Madison Cibulka talks about why she became a lawyer. She shares her career as an estate planning and corporate succession planning attorney, motivated by experiences she observed growing up. She witnessed a family business struggle due to the absence of proper corporate documents and planning, which led to frustration, disputes, and significant turmoil for both the company and its members. That experience inspired her to enter the field, with the goal of helping businesses and their stakeholders maintain strong relationships and achieve orderly transitions whenever possible.
