when I talk to both prospective and
current clients I tend to give them a
couple of pieces of advice first things
first it is easy to sell water to a
thirsty man in other words often times
people who I encounter are desperate to
normalize their
status thus finding themselves in a
vulnerable point in time in their lives
and it is precisely at that moment that
they need to be vigilant
skeptical and do their own research
irrespective of what the attorney is
telling
them if it sounds too good to be true it
often
is and secondly I would say that when it
comes to an attorney who proposes a
solution or a path
forward that is going to involve being
less than
truthful with the US
government I can almost guarantee
you that that same
attorney is not going to stop at
anything to be less than truthful with
you
Integrity matters there is a right way
and a wrong way to do things and I
encourage those who I speak with to
choose the right way

Evanston, IL immigration attorney Alen Takhsh shares his most common piece of advice to clients. He states that he often shares key advice with both prospective and current clients. First, he cautions that it is easy to “sell water to a thirsty man.” Many individuals he encounters are desperate to normalize their immigration status and, as a result, may find themselves in vulnerable positions. At such times, he stresses the importance of remaining vigilant, skeptical, and committed to conducting independent research regardless of what an attorney may promise. If something sounds too good to be true, he emphasizes, it often is.

Second, he warns clients to be wary of any attorney who suggests pursuing a path that involves being less than truthful with the U.S. government. In his experience, an attorney willing to compromise integrity with the government is unlikely to be truthful with the client either. He underscores that integrity matters, and that there is always a right way and a wrong way to proceed. His guidance is clear: choose the right way.
