Hingham, MA family law attorney James M. Lynch talks about the most important thing that a family law attorney can do for their client. He believes the most important thing a family law attorney can do for a client is to “talk them off the ledge”—help them stay focused on what truly matters and avoid obsessing over issues that are not significant. Many clients are navigating the process for the first time and rely on their attorney to guide them on what is important and what is not.
He began his legal career as a prosecutor in Boston, and by the time he transitioned to private practice, he had tried approximately 60 felony cases to juries in Suffolk County. While there are no juries in probate and family court, the underlying principle remains the same: the judge adjudicates the issues, and the cases are tried with the same strategic approach he honed in criminal court.
His goal is always to resolve domestic cases as efficiently as possible, but if a resolution cannot be reached, he is fully prepared and unafraid to take a case to trial.
