essentially trying to get a deal done

and i’ve seen many a very capable lawyer

mess up what is otherwise a perfectly

good deal or a perfectly good

transaction

because they think that by virtue of the

fact that they’re someone’s lawyer that

they need to go

in and turn over a table and and have an

argument in order to

properly advocate for their client i try

to step back and

and ask myself you know what is my

client trying to accomplish and how can

in these circumstances and oftentimes

that’s as straightforward as

energy sector specifically on the oil

and gas side

and so as a result a lot of my

the practice of oil and gas law usually

formed around my experiences

working deals working transactions in

the oil patch

especially when there’s been a dispute

out of those transactions these have
