There are a number of cases that I have tried for various clients that stand out but one in particular, I represented a builder who built a very special contemporary home in the Clearwater Hills area of Phoenix. Sold the home to a very wealthy buyer who sued my client for defects. We made a relatively early offer based on a bid that we were provided by a competent contractor and the bid wasn’t accepted. We ended up trying the case, we beat the offer, and the other side walked away. We’ve done that before and we’ve done it since but that case in particular was very rewarding because my client was a smaller builder and the plaintiff was a corporation, a large corporation. It was a subsidiary LLC that had purchased the house.

And so, it was really a David against Goliath type of case. It was a large firm here in phoenix. We’re a smaller firm but we prevailed in that case and my client was thrilled. He was facing personal exposure in that case, significant personal exposure. The attorney’s fees that were generated on the other side were worth even more than the case by the end of the case. And so, it was a potential runaway situation for my client. When they walked away with nothing it was the best result probably that we’ve been involved with as civil trial lawyers.
