The most important thing to consider when looking at an organization or a seal is whether or not it really measures anything. If there’s an objective criteria for a lawyer to qualify before they get some recommendation that’s good. And especially if the members of the public can read what those credentials are. Do they need to pass a bar exam? Do they need to be reviewed by other lawyers? Is it objective or can someone just buy their way in? If someone can buy their way in or prevent people who are qualified from getting in because it’s an old buddy system then it’s not worth the paper it’s printed on.
