if you get a green card based on

marriage and at the time that the green

card is issued you have been married for

less than two years the federal

government gives you a green card that’s

only valid for two years and the purpose

of that is for the federal government to

evaluate your marriage after two years

to determine whether or not they still

believe that the marriage was entered

into in good faith many times when an

individual has a temporary or

conditional Green Card the marriage

breaks down but it’s important to know

that even if the marriage breaks down

the foreign National has options in

terms of getting immigration status even

if the marriage leads to a divorce we
