we take every case as a trial case so
from the very first day we get it we’re
prepping it for trial and by that I
don’t mean you know some people think of
trial as just something that happens at
the end and sort of presentation skills
and yeah that’s a part of it but more
important to me is thinking like a trial
lawyer the strategy from day one has to
be as a trial lawyer and so what that
means is we think about what do I want
to argue in closing at the end of this
case what do I want to say to that jury
and that’s going to if I want to say
that then what do I need to get into
evidence at trial and if I want that in
evidence then what do I need to get in
discovery and so we’re thinking about
damages who are our best damages
witnesses who can talk about the
emotional distress that this person has
gone through and everything they’ve had
to get through to get to this point
we’re thinking about liability what are
the defenses the other side’s going to
raise and how can we take those out
before they’ve even thought of those
defenses there’s different models on how
to do this a lot of firms they kind of
have uh they want to take a lot of cases
and they want to settle them really
quickly and turn them around which is
great i got no problem with that that’s
not what we do what we do is we take on
a very small amount of cases and we work
them up for trial from day one and we
work them up hard and we do a ton of
discovery and through that process we
add a lot of value to those cases and we
can get multiples at multiples of what
other firms can get for them
