I went to – I graduated from Augsburg College with a business degree. And I had all intentions to go get my MBA and be in business. In fact, when I graduated from Augsburg I was in sales; professional sales. I was in environmental companies, and I was making good money. I was playing golf, having lunches. But it wasn’t fulfilling at all.

And then the family situation hit where one of my family members was wrongfully convicted of a crime. And I did some work for that person’s appellate lawyer, and I fell in love with criminal defense. I absolutely – it’s a calling. It’s my mission in life. It’s just what I do. It’s become who I am. And I can honestly say there is nothing I would like to do more than what I’m doing right now.
