What you want to do is is initially be
quiet. You want to let that police
officer know that you need to talk with
your attorney. If you don’t have an
attorney, you need to find one. You can
talk with a criminal defense attorney
and then discuss with the attorney
whether to answer questions or be
interviewed by the police. And again,
it’s a case-byase situation and it’s
different for every client and every
circumstance. What you don’t want to do
is start talking with that police
officer thinking you’re just going to be
able to talk your way out of this.
Atlanta, GA criminal defense attorney Sanford (Sandy) Wallack talks about what you should do when the police want to interview you.
