sure each case is different in the in

the criminal justice system uh the vast

majority of cases resolved by plea

agreements which means that the

defendant and the state of Minnesota or

the United States attorney’s office come

to an agreement uh to settle the case

and the reason why uh people settle

cases is uh the defendant doesn’t want

to take the risk of being convicted at

trial and you know the consequences that

come with that and prosecutors don’t

want to take the risk of the defense

attorney winning the case and getting a

not guilty jury vered so the vast

majority of criminal cases settle and uh

it’s the defense attorney’s job to

negotiate the best result that they can

possibly get for their client
