A consumer class action is a case brought on behalf of all people who have been affected by a typically deceptive marketing or consumer fraud type practice. So it can be everything from mislabeling on a product that would be deceptive to some other situation where there’s been some type of fraud. Typically, it involves lower damages where people have – a large number of people have been affected by a practice but they’ve only been affected in a way where their damages or their out-of-pocket losses are smaller so that they wouldn’t want to come forward and bring their own case but they can join together in a class and actually effectuate change so that the practices don’t continue.
