a couple of primary things that make our
firm different than others first is
Staffing our firm has experienced
lawyers probably more so than most we do
not do law school recruiting we don’t
have summer clerkship programs as a
general rule we don’t hire baby lawyers
our lawyers are experienced and already
know what they’re doing and the Staffing
is not by pyramid like a lot of firms do
our senior lawyers actually do the work
obviously you have matters that require
more than one lawyer so we’re capable of
Staffing but when you hire us we have
people that are experienced at what
they’re doing actually doing the work
and the second because of our structure
and because we don’t have some of the
overhead expenses of other firms our
hourly rates are significantly less than
you would pay for comparable lawyers
doing the same kind of work
thank you
we have 60 lawyers we are a full service
Law Firm so we can handle any issue that
an individual or business has from
Cradle to grave all the Specialties that
you could think of a name estate
planning real estate patent work
litigation we cover the whole Waterfront
if we have a certain special specific
area that we’re not fully experienced
and capable of handling We’ll advise a
client of that either get that help or
send them somewhere else so we only
handle what we know how to handle but
with 60 or a lot of 60 lawyers we pretty
well Cover the Waterfront in any legal
problem a client would have as an
individual or as a business
well lawyers are in the service business
and clients deserve to know what’s going
on to be informed to have deadlines met
to have effective communication whenever
it’s needed so you keep a client
informed so that there are no surprises
or as you manage the surprises so
information and sharing of information
is critical
foreign
wants to hire a lawyer I think the most
important factor is communication hire
someone that you can understand what
they’re saying you can communicate with
them you develop confidence in them it’s
really the job of a lawyer is to provide
the client with information it’s the job
of the client to make decisions that’s
going to be a better decision the more
informed it is so we take our experience
to give the most information that is
available to the client so the client
can make the most informed decision
we charge for our services in the
traditional fashion primarily hourly
rates although we will take certain
cases on a contingent basis we have some
cases that will be fixed fees or some
matters that will be fixed fees but
that’s a discussion we have with the
client at the onset and try to work out
something that that works for both of us
the bulk of our work is done by hourly
rate but we are open to discussing any
Arrangement that would help the client
solve the problem

Dallas, TX lawyer Troy Phillips talks about his firm’s areas of practice, what makes them different from other firms, their level of service to clients, as well as how they charge for their services. He notes that several key factors distinguish their firm from others. First, the firm’s staffing is comprised primarily of experienced lawyers, likely more so than most other firms. They do not recruit from law schools, run summer clerkship programs, or hire junior lawyers to learn on the job. Instead, their attorneys already possess expertise and know how to handle cases effectively. Unlike firms that use a pyramid structure, senior lawyers at this firm are directly involved in the work, ensuring that clients interact with the experienced professionals who are actually managing their matters.

Second, due to the firm’s efficient structure and lower overhead, their hourly rates are significantly less than those of comparable lawyers at other firms.

With a team of 60 lawyers, the firm operates as a full-service law firm, capable of handling virtually any legal issue an individual or business may face—from estate planning and real estate to patent work and litigation. If a specialized matter falls outside their expertise, they advise clients accordingly, either assisting them in finding the necessary help or referring them elsewhere.

He emphasizes that lawyers are in the service business, and clients deserve clear communication, timely updates, and effective management of deadlines and surprises. The most important factor in hiring a lawyer, he notes, is the ability to communicate effectively—clients must understand the advice given and have confidence in their attorney. While lawyers provide guidance and information, the ultimate decisions remain with the client, and better-informed clients make better decisions.

The firm charges for services primarily on an hourly basis but is flexible. Certain cases may be handled on a contingent fee basis or through fixed fees, depending on the matter. These arrangements are discussed upfront to ensure they meet both the client’s needs and the firm’s standards. The bulk of the work is conducted hourly, but the firm remains open to any arrangement that facilitates solving the client’s legal problem.
