What is an ITU? An ITU is an intent to use application. When you file an application at the U.S. Trademark Office to register your trademark you have to be either using the mark on products or in connection with services, or you must have a bona fide intent to use that mark on goods or in connection with services. An intent to use application allows you to file an application even before you’re actually using the mark.

Minneapolis trademark lawyer David D’Zurilla describes an intent to use application.
