Post-grant proceedings are proceedings in the patent office that can be used to test the validity of a patent. The patent office refers to it slightly differently. They refer to it as patentability, but they ultimately amount to the same thing for patent challengers. What they’re trying to do is show that the patent is not a good patent after it’s issued.
