Unfortunately, post judgement litigation is very common and the answer is there’s no way to stop it. If you were married to somebody who’s bent on keeping you in litigation it’s hard to stop that. Especially if there are children because there’ll always be issues about child support and child custody those issues are always modifiable. And it is sad that some people just for whatever the emotional need is they will just keep dragging the other party back to court even post judgement.

Los Angeles, CA family law attorney Barbara J. Youngman talks about the unfortunate commonplace of post-judgment litigation. She explains that regrettably, post-judgment litigation is a frequent occurrence, and there is no surefire way to prevent it. If your former spouse is determined to engage in ongoing litigation, it can be challenging to put a stop to it. This is especially true when children are involved, as matters relating to child support and custody can be subject to modification. It is disheartening that some individuals, driven by their emotional needs, will persistently drag the other party back to court even after the judgment has been issued.
