I would leave. If they don’t let you leave ask if you can call your lawyer, if they don’t let you call your lawyer, keep your mouth shut. You don’t have a right to impeded their execution of the search warrant so don’t get in their way but you have no obligation to help them whatsoever. The reason why you shouldn’t talk is a judge had already looked at a sworn affidavit of probable cause that the searching officer presented the judge and then signed it and determined that there was probable cause to search your house. So trying to talk yourself out of that situation is going to get you nowhere.

The cops knock on your door with a search warrant. What do you do? Minneapolis criminal lawyer, Ryan Garry, explains. He advises that in the event of a search warrant, the appropriate response is to leave if permitted. If law enforcement does not allow departure, the next step is to request to contact an attorney. Should that request be denied, he stresses the importance of remaining silent. He cautions against interfering with the execution of the warrant, as individuals have no right to obstruct law enforcement, but equally emphasizes that there is no obligation to assist. He explains that a judge has already reviewed a sworn affidavit of probable cause and authorized the search, meaning that attempting to argue or explain during the process will be ineffective and potentially harmful.
