Generally, no. No. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, but there have been cases where people have tried to couch defamatory statements in terms of opinion. And courts have said, “Well, no. You’ve crossed the line. You clearly made a statement of fact, and you tried to pretend it was an opinion.” So the usual answer is no, an opinion cannot be defamatory.
