Beachwood, Ohio personal injury attorney Jeffrey A. Leikin talks about who’s at fault in most motorcycle accidents. He notes that, surprisingly, statistics show most motorcycle accidents are caused by the motorcyclist. He is a member of AIM, a group of attorneys known as “Attorneys for Injured Motorcyclists,” which consists of lawyers who are also bikers and who give back to the motorcycle community. He recently attended the AIM National Convention in Kansas City, where one of the central themes was addressing profiling of motorcyclists by law enforcement. Speaking with over 300 attendees, he and his colleagues discussed strategies to influence legislation and improve protections for riders on the streets and highways.

Although he does not personally ride, he has represented motorcyclists since 1985, securing just and fair outcomes for clients injured in accidents. He explains that when a motorcyclist is not at fault, the accident often occurs because a driver failed to see them. Injuries in these cases are frequently catastrophic, as motorcycles lack seat belts and airbags to provide protection in collisions, including rear-end accidents or when a vehicle fails to yield.

He emphasizes that such cases require an experienced attorney who understands the unique dynamics of motorcycle accidents and can pursue maximum recovery for injured riders.
