I am a court appointed special advocate, which is a CASA volunteer. So in addition to the work that I do on behalf of foster care children I also do volunteer work where I am assigned to one child within the foster care system in Los Angeles County, and it is my job to go to court on a volunteer basis and advocate for that child and make sure that that child’s needs are being met.
Torrance, CA personal injury attorney Carly Sanchez talks about her work with foster children. She explains that as a CASA volunteer, she serves as a court-appointed special advocate assigned to represent a specific child in the foster care system in Los Angeles County. In addition to her professional work representing foster care children, she volunteers her time to ensure that each child’s needs are met and attends court proceedings to advocate on their behalf.
