FL personal injury trial lawyer, John Holcomb talks about his background and early career as a lawyer. He recalls that when he began law school at the University of Florida, he was initially uncertain about whether to pursue real estate law, tax law, or trial law. That changed after a course in which he had the opportunity to try two criminal jury trials, an experience that solidified his decision to become a trial lawyer. Since then, he has devoted his entire career to trial practice. He holds the distinction of being among fewer than 300 lawyers nationwide recognized as diplomates of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an honor reflecting his achievement of successfully trying more than 100 jury trials to verdict.
In his commitment to professional excellence, he has participated in numerous Masters in Trial programs across the country, in cities such as New York, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco. These experiences have enabled him to observe attorneys from a variety of backgrounds present cases in different ways, broadening his perspective and enriching his own practice. Beyond his work in the courtroom, he is deeply committed to teaching. He has served as an instructor at the Trial College at both Harvard and Princeton, sharing his expertise with the next generation of advocates. He takes great pride in his profession and continues to find deep satisfaction in the practice of law.
