So I am a personal injury attorney, and we represent individuals who have sustained catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. And I have developed a particular specialty representing foster care children who have been physically and sexually abused.

I wanted to become a lawyer so that I could help people and I’m really pleased to say that at Booth and Koskoff I’ve been given the opportunity to do exactly that. And one of the things that I most love about being a lawyer is at the end of the day achieving justice for my clients and being able to tell them about the result that we’ve obtained for them. So every day I come to work I’m happy to be doing the kind of work that I’m doing and the ability to help our clients really drives me to keep going.

When I am dealing with insurance companies I always assume that they are looking to get a quick deal and that they think that they’re dealing with an inexperienced attorney. So I always let them know that I’m willing to work with them and cooperate with them, but not at my client’s expense. They’re not going to get a bargain for settling quickly. So in other words we’re always prepared to go trial in every single one of our cases, and I like to let insurance companies know that.

I represent a lot of children who are in the foster care dependency system, and so for me the most rewarding part of my practice is being able to tell those kids, hey there are adults out there who care about what happened to you and who are willing to go to bat for you in order to obtain justice. Often these children have been failed over and over again by every adult they’ve encountered, and it’s extremely rewarding to tell them we care about you and we’re going to try to help you.

I am a court appointed special advocate, which is a CASA volunteer. So in addition to the work that I do on behalf of foster care children I also do volunteer work where I am assigned to one child within the foster care system in Los Angeles County, and it is my job to go to court on a volunteer basis and advocate for that child and make sure that that child’s needs are being met.
