You know as silly as it sounds my mom has said that I was going to be a lawyer from the time I was a little kid. I was always arguing and negotiating over dinners when I was a kid and time in the sandbox she would tell me that I would negotiate for her. So I think I’ve always been in some regard meant to be a lawyer or wanted to be a lawyer. I’m very fortunate that I love what I do for a living.

I get to work early in the mornings, I stay till the evenings I had to do that when I was working and putting myself through law school and it’s 25 years later but I would tell you it still carries over to today. My wife sometimes complains that I don’t take days off and I don’t come home early but that’s just the nature of who I am and how I work.

In the past 20 years or so, I’ve tried over 100 cases to juries everywhere from as far north as Dalton and Woodfield Country down south to Dougherty County in Albany, Georgia. And I think that the benefit has been that trying cases in small counties as well as large counties I’ve gotten a good feeling for what I think juries will do with certain types of cases.
