what’s rewarding about doing um divorce
or family law is getting people through
the process I really appreciate the fact
that it is difficult to do to dissolve a
relationship um to break up a family but
I like to get people to the light at the
end of the tunnel um and hopefully get
them the best resolution um for their
family and for
themselves I was always interested in
the practice because it’s I love to
multitask so I love the aspect that
every day looks different um when it
comes to family law after pick picking
the just the general practice of law I
chose family law just because I like to
particularly get a parenting plan that’s
in the best interest of children I I
came into this practice because I was
interested in children um and taking
care of them within a dissolution action
looking to their need needs making sure
that they’re adequately supported
they’re safe um and frankly happy um
following a a dissolution of a
relationship or a
marriage

Portland, OR family law attorney Megan Gilmore talks about the most rewarding aspect of her practice and why she became a lawyer. She finds the most rewarding aspect of practicing family law in guiding people through one of the most difficult transitions of their lives. Dissolving a relationship or breaking up a family is never easy, but she values the opportunity to help clients reach the light at the end of the tunnel and obtain the best possible resolution for themselves and their families.

Her interest in family law stems from both her professional and personal strengths. She enjoys multitasking, and the dynamic nature of family law means that every day presents a new challenge. After exploring general legal practice, she chose to focus on family law because it allowed her to concentrate on issues that directly affect children.

She is particularly committed to crafting parenting plans that serve the best interests of children. For her, the practice is about ensuring that children are adequately supported, safe, and able to maintain stability and happiness following the dissolution of a relationship or marriage.
