so when clients come in to see us they
have an idea sometimes of what they want
to do for their Estate Planning and
sometimes they have a little bit of an
idea or no idea at all so for me being
able to guide them and have them be
fully informed about what it means to do
your estate planning is one of the most
rewarding parts of my practice
because once they tell me what their
story is what their facts are I can give
them an idea of what documents that they
need and they can then choose what is
best for them sometimes clients come in
and they have children who are living
with disabilities or they have a spouse
that may need services like Medicaid in
the near future and what they need at
that point is probably going to be a
special needs trust but a lot of times
they don’t know about that so giving
them those ideas that knowledge is part
of the advisory role that I really
appreciate having the ability to help
them with
a lot of people don’t like talking about
death or incapacity
sometimes they just don’t like talking
about it because it’s a sensitive topic
sometimes it’s about culture
so for me I like to tell clients that
they need to talk about this because
eventually you will become incapacitated
and eventually you will pass away so if
you can have the conversation and
prepare for it then you are doing a
service not only to yourself but also to
your family members who are left behind
and have to take care of your Affairs
after the point of incapacity or death
