Spring, TX estate planning & probate attorney Christine Butts shares the philosophy of her practice as well as her background & experience. She states that since she began practicing law nearly 25 years ago, her mission has been to help families navigate times of crisis—whether those crises involve the loss of a loved one or the incapacity of a family member. Equally important to her mission is helping families prepare for such times through proactive estate planning that anticipates challenges that can arise as people age.
She brings a long history and deep experience in estate planning and estate administration. Her father, Mike Riddle, founded his law firm in 1981, and she had the privilege of working there from the age of 14. As a teenager, she witnessed wills being prepared and assisted with other administrative tasks, gaining early exposure to the field. She earned a business degree from the University of Texas before attending the University of Houston Law School, graduating in 1996.
In 2003, she became board certified in estate planning and probate. Later, in 2010, she was elected as the judge of Harris County Probate Court Four, serving two terms—eight years in total. In that role, she was able to fully live out her mission of assisting families in times of need. She oversaw the administration of hundreds of estates and guardianships and reviewed thousands of wills, gaining invaluable experience while supporting families navigating the challenges of estate administration or caring for incapacitated loved ones.
Her career has been defined by a commitment to guiding families through both planning and crisis, ensuring they have the support, knowledge, and protection they need during life’s most difficult moments.
