well I think lawyers get a bad rap um to
me the law is a helping profession and
that’s why I went to law school and
that’s why I practice law I love jumping
into my clients situations whether a
business or an individual and learning
everything I can about the situation and
being the one in their Corner fighting
for them and also coming up with
Creative Solutions to help them achieve
their
goals the same advice that I offer my
friends and my children and that is let
that cup of coffee cool so if you get a
contentious letter
email you don’t need to respond right
away take some time think about it maybe
even sleep on it and then when you in a
more calm
space respond thoughtfully don’t be
reactive don’t respond in the moment
despite that
Temptation so I represent businesses and
individuals in all sorts of matters
everything from breach of contract to
defamation I have a lot of experience
helping clients with
business disputes shareholder
divorces family business
breakups and have also represented
clients who’ve had their reputations
destroyed by
defamation so I love the variety and
learning about my client situation and
just helping them to achieve their their
goals and the best possible
outcome

Minneapolis, MN commercial litigation attorney Lori Johnson talks about the most rewarding part of her practice, advice to clients, and the philosophy that guides her work. The speaker believes that lawyers often receive a bad reputation. To them, the law is a helping profession, which is why they attended law school and continue to practice law. They enjoy immersing themselves in their clients’ situations—whether business or individual—and learning everything possible about those circumstances. The speaker takes pride in being in their clients’ corner, fighting for them, and devising creative solutions to help them achieve their goals.

The speaker often shares the same advice with friends and family: let that cup of coffee cool. If a contentious letter or email is received, there is no need to respond immediately. Taking some time to reflect, or even sleeping on it, can lead to a more thoughtful and calm response rather than a reactive one, despite the temptation to reply right away.

The speaker represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of matters, from breach of contract to defamation. They have considerable experience assisting clients with business disputes, shareholder divorces, family business breakups, and defending clients whose reputations have been harmed by defamation. The speaker appreciates the variety in their work and enjoys learning about each client’s situation to help them achieve the best possible outcome.
