A marriage-based green card can be
denied for a few reasons. Uh, one of the
simplest reasons is failing to respond
to a request for evidence. Failing to
respond to a request for evidence in a
timely manner can involve a denial.
Also, a marriage has to be bonafideed
good faith. You as the petitioner have
to prove that your marriage is a
bonafideed good faith marriage and not
for immigration purposes. If you fail to
prove that, that is a reason and a major
reason for the green card to be denied.

Miami, FL immigration attorney Ruth Jean talks about some reasons you could be denied a marriage-based green card. She explains that a marriage-based green card can be denied for several reasons. One of the most common reasons is failing to respond to a request for evidence within the required timeframe, which can automatically result in a denial. Another significant reason involves the nature of the marriage itself. The petitioner must prove that the marriage is bona fide — a genuine relationship built on good faith and not entered into for immigration purposes. If the evidence fails to demonstrate that authenticity, it becomes one of the primary grounds for denial of the green card application.
