I find that some of the most rewarding aspects of my insurance defense practice are helping people and navigating a variety of complex situations. I really enjoy the aspect of helping people and providing support in very challenging defense circumstances. The relief clients feel from the pressure of being accused of something they didn’t do is significant, and helping those wrongfully accused—often of serious allegations—is both a relief to them and a meaningful reward to me.

I enjoy trying cases, but as good lawyers know, winning is not everything. Unlike Vince Lombardi’s famous assertion that “winning is everything,” for a professional lawyer, doing the right thing is profoundly satisfying and professionally rewarding. When I lose a case, as happens from time to time, I find comfort in knowing that I did my best and can stand behind my efforts.

Mentoring and inspiring others is another important aspect of my practice. I thoroughly enjoy mentoring my colleagues and, perhaps most importantly, demonstrating to non-lawyers that lawyers are honest, ethical, and an essential part of society.
