i think one of my more recent memorable
appeals just showed
it really demonstrates the need to
investigate a case i was working on a
case and something just wasn’t sitting
right so i reached out to one of the
jurors because i had a question and it
turns out that this juror who happened
to be the foreperson of the jury
worked with
and trusted the person that our
defendant was accusing of actually
perpetrating the crime and so it just
shows the need to take the time to
really investigate the case before going
forward

Atlanta, GA criminal defense attorney Leigh S. Schrope shares the story of a memorable criminal appeal she handled. She recalls that one of her more recent memorable appeals highlighted the importance of thoroughly investigating a case. While working on a matter, something didn’t feel right, so she reached out to one of the jurors with a question. It turned out that the juror, who happened to be the foreperson, worked with and trusted the person the defendant was accusing of committing the crime. The experience underscored for her the necessity of taking the time to carefully examine a case before moving forward.
