primarily started my career in terms of
Federal Criminal experience about 20 25
years ago doing exclusively Federal
cases but over the years getting a track
Road records of success in Federal
Criminal trials has led me to handle on
a very regular basis now a state court
criminal felony cases here in Illinois
and in other jurisdictions and by way of
example just last week we represented an
individual in a state felony case in
Illinois where the individual was a
charge with attempted murder and were
able to obtain a not guilty verdict for
that individual so on quite a regular
basis we represent individuals in state
felony cases here in Illinois and take
those cases of trial in cases ranging
anywhere from gun crimes to murder or
even some white collar offense cases
even though those are less frequently
charged in State Court
Chicago, IL criminal defense attorney Michael Leonard discusses the kinds of state felony cases do you handle. He explains that I initially began my career focusing on federal criminal cases approximately 20 to 25 years ago. Through the years, my consistent success in federal criminal trials has expanded my practice to include state court felony cases in Illinois and other jurisdictions. Recently, we had the opportunity to represent an individual facing charges of attempted murder in a state felony case in Illinois. We were able to secure a not guilty verdict for our client, highlighting our ability to effectively defend individuals in state felony cases. These cases encompass a wide range of offenses, including gun crimes, murder, and occasionally white-collar offenses, although the latter are less frequently charged in state court. Handling state felony cases in Illinois has become a regular part of our practice, and we are committed to taking these cases to trial and achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.
