The best way to work with an appellate advocate is to get the appellate advocate involved as early as you can, usually consulting with them at the time of post-trial motions, where a lot of the record is being maintained and retained. And then from then on, it is working with the lawyer as you’re going through the appeal process. Once the case is on appeal, then the appellate lawyer really takes the laboring oar but consults with the trial attorney as necessary, keeping – you know, giving the client the best of both, what the trial lawyer has done and what the appellate lawyer can do for the client.

Minneapolis, MN appellate lawyer Kay Nord Hunt discusses the best way to work with an appellate advocate.
