If you’re paying alimony to your spouse you can’t take the exemption for the spouse because you’re getting a deduction for the alimony payment. Assuming that it’s designated as alimony and meets the IRS requirements in your final judgment of divorce, that exemption or deduction will rule out your ability to take them as a deduction.
