The divorce process, I like to say,
starts with the petition, the document you file to open up the case. The other side will file a response. That way, the
court knows that both parties have appeared in the action and the court can now what I call take jurisdiction over the parties. Then you go through what
the disclosure process, which is where you gather all your uh documents to put together assets and debts to put
together um an overview of your income and expenses. At that point, we get to take a look through uh the case and see
what issues we might want to explore more. If we want to dive into discovery,
uh whatever issues we think that we can resolve right off the bat, we want to do that. Our goal is to resolve as much as
possible so we can really minimize uh trial time. Trial is the last step for anything that remains unresolved.
