Eagan, MN family law attorney, Susan M. Gallagher discusses her experience in handling high conflict parenting time. She mentions that this is her favorite area of practice. She particularly enjoys working on high-conflict cases and takes pride in her ability to guide clients through these challenging situations. Over the course of her career, she has gone to trial and successfully obtained sole legal and physical custody in more than a dozen very complex cases. She notes that many people assume high-conflict cases are nearly impossible to win, but her experience has shown otherwise.
Many of these cases involve mental health considerations, and her background as a nurse gives her a distinct advantage in understanding her clients’ needs and the resources available to them. She emphasizes the importance of involving experts and conducting thorough evaluations, whether it’s a chemical dependency assessment, a psychological evaluation, or even a neuropsychological evaluation when concerns arise regarding the integrity of a client’s neurosystem. This combination of clinical insight and legal expertise allows her to approach high-conflict custody cases with both rigor and care.
