For nearly all family law issues, it’s
not a one-sizefits-all approach. And I
think that that rings especially true as
it pertains to child custody cases. When
I am starting to work on a new custody
case, it is important for me to take the
time to meet in person with my client
and really hear what their concerns are
and their needs. And from there I will
design a legal strategy that fits those
needs and which can accomplish their
specific goals. You know the approach
and recommendations that I might make in
a case where the two parents can
peacefully co-parent are going to be
materially different from the
recommendations in cases where you’re
dealing with a high conflict case. So
that’s why it’s so important to, you
know, meet with your client and
understand what the concerns are in that
case.

Irvine, CA family law attorney Amanda Beall talks about her approach to custody cases. She emphasizes that nearly all family law matters require a tailored approach, particularly in child custody cases. When beginning work on a new custody matter, she makes it a priority to meet with her client in person to fully understand their concerns and needs. From there, she develops a legal strategy designed to address those needs and achieve the client’s specific goals.

She notes that her approach varies significantly depending on the circumstances: recommendations in cases where parents can co-parent peacefully are very different from strategies in high-conflict situations. This is why she stresses the importance of taking the time to meet with clients and thoroughly understand the unique concerns of each case.
