Well, it depends. If you have a marriage
of long duration, which is over 10
years, uh your spouse or partner could
be on the hook or you could be on the
hook for paying spousal support for the
rest of your life, their life, or until
the other party remaries. If it’s under
10 years, um then the spousal support is
payable one half the length of the
marriage. And it’s not an automatic
right or every circumstance changes and
it can be modified.
