so i’m primarily um a creditor side uh
bankruptcy so
as distinguished from a debt or side
bankruptcy
i represent primarily creditors and
creditor committees in in bankruptcies
chapter 11s typically i’ll do some
creditor side 7s and 13s for for some
long-standing bank clients because it
comes up
i’ve been doing it for 23 years
and what i love about it is it’s a
little bit like a puzzle there are
different because there’s so many
different moving pieces in bankruptcy
unlike a litigation where you have a
one-to-one um
relationship with a plaintiff and
defendant
in bankruptcies there can be hundreds of
other constituencies you have to be
concerned about
so it’s very challenging and incredibly
interesting

Las Vegas, NV bankruptcy attorney Brigid M. Higgins discusses her firm’s work in bankruptcy law. She notes that she primarily practices on the creditor side of bankruptcy, as opposed to representing debtors. Her work focuses on representing creditors and creditor committees in Chapter 11 cases. Occasionally, she handles creditor-side Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters for long-standing banking clients when the need arises.
With 23 years of experience in the field, she finds the work intellectually stimulating. Bankruptcy cases are akin to intricate puzzles, involving numerous moving pieces. Unlike traditional litigation, which typically involves a direct one-to-one relationship between plaintiff and defendant, bankruptcy requires consideration of potentially hundreds of other constituencies. She finds the complexity both challenging and deeply engaging.
