The first thing that someone should do if they’re hurt on the job is they should report it because there are reporting requirements and you have to report that injury to your employer. Typically, they law gives you 180 days but we always counsel our clients to report the injury immediately. And there are two reasons for that, one is that the employer then has a greater chance of accepting that as true and instead of the reporting that occurs say when it happens on a Friday and then a week later it gets reported and the employer may thing maybe that happened somewhere off the job. So there’s always the credibility question so we always advice people report your injury right away. And the second reason is so you go see a doctor and you record the injury with the doctor so that those records are available later on. Those are the two most important components, contact your employer, report it, and secondly, if the condition persists go see a doctor and have it checked out.
