Malpractice cases are different than any other type of personal injury because the doctors do not want to settle their case. Historically, doctors can win up to sixty or seventy percent of the cases that go to trial, so, the attorney for the plaintiff, for the victim, for the innocent party that is seeking damages needs to be experienced in the field of medicine – experienced in trying complicated malpractice cases and simplifying the concepts for the jury to be able to explain to the jury what the doctor did wrong and why the victim should be compensated. It takes a lawyer that has the resources to be able to find doctors, meet with doctors, learn the area of medicine that is involved in the particular case as well as the doctors know it so that they can adequately and competently go to trial and be successful.
Chicago, IL personal injury attorney Bruce Goodman talks about what exactly it takes to win a medical malpractice case.
