It’s businesses that have either direct contracts and qualifying contracts with the federal government or a state government. And there are three general types of contracts you have supply and service contracts, construction contracts, and federally assisted construction contracts. And if those contracts are a sufficient amount and it varies but on the federal side, for instance, if you have a contract with a federal agency that is of $10,000.00 or in excess of $10,000.00 and that would require, make that business potentially a government contractor, a federal contractor or it certainly would. And then, you take the next step there are different obligations depending on the size of the contract that an entity has with the government.

On the federal side too, you can be a federal subcontractor. So in that circumstance, it’s a company that has an engagement with an entity that has a contract with a federal, the government and the subcontractor is providing some service or product that is used to fulfill the federal prime contract.

Minneapolis, MN business litigation attorney, Ryan Olson, talks about who needs Affirmative Action Compliance services the most.
